Elizabeth Ruiz McLaughlin, age 80, passed away on Wednesday September 17, 2014 in Bernalillo, NM surrounded by her family. She was born in Hollywood, New Mexico on August 13, 1934, and was one of nine children to Tomas and Rosalia Munoz Ruiz of El Paso, Texas. Elizabeth was a loving wife to Dr. Israel Torres and then to William E. McLaughlin; they raised two children, Michael Torres and Dianna Elizabeth Torres Archibeque. Elizabeth was also a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her two children and six grandchildren. Elsie's genuine kindness, contagious laugh, and respect for everyone she met will be missed by her family and countless others. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at San Jose Mission, 1430 NM-313 Algodones, NM with a eulogy following. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at San Jose Mission, Algodones, NM with interment to follow and a gathering at Our Lady of Sorrow Social Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Elizabeth's honor to the Sjogren Syndrome Foundation .
