Ellen Jane Walker

Ellen Jane Walker, 75, of Kirtland, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Cedar Ridge Inn in Farmington. Mrs. Walker was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Miami, Ariz., the daughter of William B. Culver and Isabel Elizabeth Carroll Culver. She attended and later graduated from Miami High School. Ellen married William Walker in 1952, in Miami. They were married nearly 56 years. Ellen and her family moved to Kirtland in 1967. She was employed by Electrical Energy Services Inc. (EESI), for five years. Ellen loved volunteering her time by helping the Red Cross, New Mexico CowBelles, National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA), and San Juan Regional Medical Center. She donated her time and talents to youth football and baseball, at the polls as an election worker and as a preschool volunteer. She was also active in animal rescue and the San Juan Animal League. She was a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge No. 1747. She never met a stranger and whoever she met became her instant friend. Ellen will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, William Walker, on Feb. 26, 2010. She is survived by her children, son, Cliff Walker; daughter, Lori L. Moffatt and husband, John; son, Bobby Walker and wife, Laura; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Cremation will take place and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. in Farmington.
