Elsie Mae Manes, 89, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010. She was born May 13, 1921, in Walters, Oklahoma to Frank and Lucy Duncan. Elsie moved to Farmington in the late 1930’s. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She also volunteered with the San Juan Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings; brothers, Elwood, Alvin, Elmer, Grady, Lee, Melvin, Shorty and Wade Duncan, and sisters, Marie Thomas and Jean Lester. Her husband of 68 years, Olos Manes, preceded her in death by just 45 days, passing away on May 9, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Clyde) Brown; granddaughter, Tanya (David) Blankinship; great grandchildren, Justin and Jensen Blankinship; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be deeply missed. The family finds comfort knowing she is now reunited with her husband, Olos. Cremation will take place and Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, 865 N. Dustin Ave., in Farmington, with Rev. Tura Hayes officiating.
