Friends and family of Elsie McKnight. A friend, mother, grandmother, sister and wife will be greatly missed as we had to say goodbye to her November 14th 2018. Elsie was always full of laughter and optimism, no matter how big or dangerous of an obstacle tried standing in her way. Even in sickness and pain she flirted her way through to recovery making every doctor and nurse of hers not only smile but blush. Making a unique, everlasting impression in the minds and hearts of all whom crossed her path.
Elsie McKnight was born March 7th 1940 to Charles Edgar and Nettie Jane Poe in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband John McKnight, 5 children and their spouses Natalie Wilks and Mike Monteil, Butch and Kay Wilks, Amy and John Crapse, Steve and Polly Wilks and Vicki and Chris Cummings Nine Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren and One Great Great grandchild. Elsie has a long distinguished career with the US Postal service including Acting Post Master in Ranchos De Taos NM, Jemez NM and ultimately retiring as Post Master of Tome NM. Elsie was an avid reader, doll collector animal lover and gardener. In recent years even became “Candy Crush” savy. Using Facebook to network and stay connected to friends and family on a daily basis. Some, if not all have heard these words. “I love you to pieces my little meces” “I love you to the moon and back” “Sweet dreams my little angel” or her way to get in a few more “I love you’s and I love you more’s” in a way that only she could. We will all think of her often and miss her always. Even though she is no longer with is physically, she will remain alive in spirit within each and every single one of us, until we meet again.
Thank you,
Natalie
