Emilio F Pargas

Pargas, Emilio Age 88, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 in Socorro, NM. He was born in San Marcial, NM on December 26, 1925, to Benito and Emilia (Baldonado) Pargas. The family moved to San Antonio, NM after the flood destroyed San Marcial. He served his country in the Army during WWII and was an honest, humble, and hardworking man who was devoted to his family. Emilio had a great respect for nature and animals and loved his dogs. He taught his grandchildren how to hunt and fish and he was quite the rockhound. He enjoyed collecting rocks and raising sheep on his farm. Emilio retired from the USGS after 20 years of service. Emilio had a dry sense of humor and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ralph, Luis, Herminio and Jose Pargas; and his sisters, Mary Ann Pargas and Amalia Gonzales. Emilio is survived by his four loving children, Emily Pargas, Debbie Brook and husband, James, Linda Gerard, and Greg Pargas; his brothers, Horacio Pargas and wife, Irene, Natividad Pargas and wife, Maggie, Ernest Pargas and wife, Mary, and Benny Pargas; his sister-in-law, Adela Pargas; his grandchildren, Cheryl Frazier and companion, Adolph Maynes, Lee Brook and wife, Julie, Larry Brook and wife, Shannon, Lauren Sirimanodham and husband, Anon, Pamela Smith and husband, William, Blaine Gerard II and wife, Caramia; great grandchildren, Michael, Steven and Bradley Fuller, Cheyenne Frazier, Lyria, Levi, Jett, Preston and Mason Brook, Chyenne Sirimanodham, Shiloh and Samuel Smith, Ciera, Blaine III and Cianna Gerard; great great grandchildren, Paityn Fuller, Genevieve Maes-Fuller and soon to be born, Landon Fuller. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 9:00 am at San Miguel with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will be in the San Antonio Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Lee Brook, Larry Brook, Bradley Fuller, Raymond Pargas, Ernest Pargas and Bennie Pargas Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. There will be a reception at the DAV, 200 5th St. N, Socorro immediately following the Rosary.
