Enrique Henry Romero, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, entered eternal life on June 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 5, 1949, in Horse Springs, New Mexico to Felicita and Manuel Romero, Henry was a source of love, laughter, and unwavering faith to all who knew him.
Henry is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Ramona Romero. His legacy lives on through his children: Gabrielle Romero, Manuel (Melissa) Romero, Monica Benavidez, and Mark (Joan) Benavidez. He was a proud grandfather to Alycia (Collin) Filyk, Juan Vigil Jr., Elianna Romero, Brittany Vasquez, Angel (Freddie) Martinez, Billy and L.J. Benavidez and a cherished great-grandfather to Kinsley, Miles, and Elizabeth Filyk and Amelia and Izzy (Boy) Morales.
He is also survived by his siblings Billy (Esperanza) Romero, Albert (Lydia) Romero, and Christina Archibeque, along with many other loving family members and special friends who will miss him dearly.
Henry was welcomed into heaven by his beloved daughter Consuelo “Chelo” Romero-Vigil, whom he deeply missed for the past 17 years, his dear son-in-law Rob Lisenbee and his grandson Mark Benavidez Jr.. He was also preceded in death by many brothers, sisters, and extended family members.
A proud veteran, Henry served in the Army National Guard from 1967 until his retirement in 2004, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. His service to his country was a deep source of pride, and he was honored with various certifications and awards throughout his long and distinguished military career.
Henry was a kind, giving, and outgoing man with a heart full of love. He devoted his life to caring for others and always offered his support with compassion and strength. A man of deep faith, Henry was a devoted follower of Christ and lived out his beliefs in every aspect of his life.
He found great joy in the simple pleasures—music, dancing, playing his guitar, and working on projects in his yard. He especially loved spending time with his beloved fur babies, Bella and Nala, and never missed a chance to enjoy a visit to the casino.
Henry’s joyful spirit, unwavering faith, and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by those he leaves behind.
