Ernest Armijo

ARMIJO - Ernest Armijo Jr. 56, passed away peacefully surround by his family on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Socorro, NM. He was born August 17, 1955 in Albuquerque, NM to Ernest Sr. and Rose (Garcia) Armijo. Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved mother; his brother, Ignacio; his sister, Corina; and two infant brothers. Ernest is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Teresa (Laughlin) Armijo; his loving children, Lorina Armijo Shelton; Leslie Ann Stewart-King; Ernest Christopher Armijo III and wife, Shellia; and Brigitte Armijo and fiance, Tyrone Silva; his father, Ernest J. Armijo Sr.; ten grandchildren, Gabriel, Aaron, Taylor, Matthew, Alexis, Tyler V., Parker, Tyler B., Bailee, and Jacee; his sisters, Emma Chavez, and husband, Jimmy; Irene Armijo Chavez and Frank, and Joanne Armijo Otero; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Ernest was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He and Teresa owned and operated Armijo's Restaurant of Socorro for 30 years. Ernest loved team roping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially adored his grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the San Miguel Catholic Church at 7:00 pm with Visitation beginning at 6:00 pm. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00 am with Deacon Miguel C. Ybarra. Visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment will take place in the Bosquecito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Chavez, Albin Chavez, Tony Crespin, Socorro Jacquez, Mike Hudson, and Dominic Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are James Chavez, Ignacio Chavez, Daniel Chavez, Zachary Chavez, David Chavez, and Jarick Chavez. Ernest 's care has been entrusted to:
