Ernest F. “Paul” Garcia passed away peacefully at age 95 under hospice care.  He was born in Ledoux, NM, one of seven children born to Alfonso and Maria Perpetua Garcia.

Ernest is survived by his sisters, Sophia Balland and Bercy Espinoza; brother, Domingo, and many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his daughter, Constance (Coni) Garcia Groves and her husband Ken; his son, Alfred; three grandchildren, Alan Haines, Ramona Alonso and Holly Weiss; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  He is also survived by his second wife, Carman Garcia and stepchildren; Julia, Judy, Joyce, Janice, Jayne and Christy Beth, the step-granddaughter he helped raise from birth. Nine other step-grandchildren, James, Jacob, Justin, Jillian, Shannon, Amy, Michael, Brandon, Ann E.; 18 step-great grandchildren and one step-great great granddaughter.

He was proceeded in death by stepson, John, step granddaughter Jennifer, and step grandson Joshua.

Ernest was a member of the “Greatest Generation” having served in WWII with Patton’s Third Army in North Africa, Italy, England and landed in France on D-Day plus one in 1945.  He transferred to the US Air Force in 1947; served a year in Korea during the Korean War, and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1963 at Kirtland AFB.  He later had a career as a civil servant serving over 10 years as the Manager of the Commissary at the US Air Force Academy.  He was very proud of his two businesses; the NM Regional Sales Representative for KBD Hair Products for 10 years, also a Melaleuca Independent Marketing Executive for 25 years.  He spent the remainder of his life as a devoted husband, father and step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather.  His humor and his love of life will be missed by all;  we know he will be doing his favorite thing in heaven, dancing.

The family will hold a private burial with full military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
