Ernest Perea, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was born on May 14, 1930, in Edgewood, New Mexico.

Ernest proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, an experience that shaped his strong character and lifelong dedication. He was known as the family jokester, always bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Ernest enjoyed simple pleasures in life, especially spending time with his loved ones. He frequently enjoyed trips to the casino with his son-in-law, Pedro Perez, moments that brought him much happiness and companionship. Above all, he will be remembered as a kind and loving man who deeply cherished his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Lorraine Perea, and by two of his sons, Tommy Perea and Danny Perea.

Ernest is survived by his children: Ernie Perea, Lawrence Perea, Arlene Jojola, Susan Blanton, Shirley Perea, and Barbara Perez. He also leaves behind many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life.

A funeral service to honor Ernest’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Services will be held at Daniel’s Funeral Service at 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.

Ernest’s legacy of love, humor, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
