Ernest F. Postlewaite

Ernest Frederick Postlewaite, 91, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 3, 2015.  He was born in Hammond, Indiana and spent his childhood in the Chicago area.  
He joined his wife of 62 years, Bobby, and his parents Samuel and Emma, and brother Sam.  He is survived by his three children, Terri Kelly of Albuquerque (and husband Dennis), Mark Postlewaite of Carlsbad (and Patricia Bryant), and Sharon Calhoun of Los Alamos (and husband Michael); grandchildren Sean, Danny (and wife Holly), and Katelyn Kelly, Christopher and Steven Calhoun, and Austin and Evan Postlewaite; and great grandchildren Finn and Oscar Kelly and Tripp and Birdie Leal; and beloved nieces and nephews and their families including Jim (and wife Merle) Postlewaite with whom he stayed in close contact and their daughters Stephanie and Jeanine, and sister-in-law Georgeanne Chancellor.  

Ernie attended the University of Indiana until he was drafted into the Army Air Corps.  He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a lineman and then engineer for most of his adult life until retirement.  Ernie was a resident of Roswell, NM for over 40 years until his wife’s passing.  He was active in the Telephone Pioneers of America Club there with lifelong friends.  He had also been active in the past in the Shriner’s and the Mason’s.

A memorial service will be held in Albuquerque on Saturday, May 2 at 11:00 am at Daniel’s Family Funeral Service, 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE.  There will be a reception immediately following in their reception hall.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Ernie to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of NM; 6100 Indian School Rd.
