Eugene Edward “Gene” Anderson, 100 years young, of Rio Rancho, NM passes away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the home of his daughter and surrounded by his family. Gene was born on May 11, 1924, in Kansasville, Wisconsin. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in both World War 2 and the Korean War. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, two Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart.
After his military career, Gene began a career as a Master Machinist, holding positions at major companies such as Massey Ferguson, Twin Disc, and Ladish in Wisconsin. Forty-one years ago, Gene moved to Rio Rancho and took his master machining skills to N C Ribble, until his retirement. While working he also become extremely active in building the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, in Rio Rancho, holding many titles including Past Exulted Ruler.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Caroline Anderson of Racine, Wisconsin, his wife of 60 years, Marilyn, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Grace Anderson, his wife of 5 years, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Surviving is his daughter, Rogene Schramko and son Gary Anderson of Rio Rancho, and son Jeffrey Anderson with his wife Donna of Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Also surviving are two sisters, Carol Kugel of Eagle, Wisconsin, Ruth Kristof of Rio Rancho, and a brother, Ernest Anderson of Racine, Wisconsin, 4 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and extended family.
The family will be having a small quiet graveside service on Monday July 22, 2024 at Vista Verde Memorial Park with Military Honors.
