Eugene "Gene" Valdez

Eugene "Gene" Valdez, age 71, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Rest, Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was born in Fort Collins, CO and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike Sr. and Elvira Valdez; and a brother, Mike Valdez, Jr. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Leonarda "Leo" Valdez; his children, Natalie Gamberg and husband Keith of Las Vegas, NV, Walter Valdez of Fort Collins, CO, Zachary Valdez and wife Jill also of Fort Collins, CO; his precious grandchildren, Bailey and Rachel Gamberg, Mason and Amanda Valdez. Also surviving are his siblings, Jim (Bernice) Valdez of Las Vegas, NV, Carmen (Si) Barela of Fort Collins, CO, Victor (Veronica) Valdez of Fort Collins, CO, Tony (Mary Ann) Valdez of Mesquite, NV, Ralph (Cindy) Valdez also of Fort Collins, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gene will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Friday, March 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 W.
