Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 30, 2011at the age of 73. She was born June 17, 1938 to Jose and Frances Gonzalez in Albuquerque, NM. Evangeline was a devoted wife and mother who adored her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and praying the Rosary. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Tapia; grandson, Vincent Tapia; sisters, Joelyn Montano, Henrietta McCan;es and Elsie Sanchez; one brother, Peter Gonzalez. Evangeline is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Justo Tapia; daughters, Sarah (Frances) Tapia, Carolyn Tapia-Quintana and Loretta Tapia, sons, Tommy J. Tapia Sr. and Albert Tapia; one brother, JP Gonzalez and one sister, Rosalie Sierra; four grandchildren, Tommy Tapia Jr., Tarlene Tapia, Marissa Garcia, Annette Quintana, special family friend, Gilbert Baca and numerous other family and friends. A Reciting of the Rosary will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 6:00 p.m; A Communion Service will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.; Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Evangeline will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
