Evangeline Juliet "Vangie" Tinajero died on October 30, 2022 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 72.
Vangie was born on August 16, 1950 in Los Angeles, California to Consuelo Maria Luisa Barreras and John Tinajero.
She is survived by her son, Darrin (Eva) Muenzberg of La Bajada, New Mexico; her sisters, Terri (William) Molina, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lydia (Jerome) Tinajero-Deck of Oakland, California, Laura (Michael) Romero of Rosemead, California; Brothers, Richard (Lorraine) Barbosa of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Arthur, (Leda) Barbosa of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ahijada, Mariesa (Manuel) Gonzales of Tucson, Arizona, her grandson, Baern Candelario Muenzberg, and numerous loving cousins, nieces, and nephews, many close friends, and a multitude of esteemed colleagues and associates she worked with over the years.
Vangie is preceded in death by her Father, John Tinajero; Mother, Consuelo Barbosa; Stepfather, Richard Barbosa, and God Father, Henry Barreras.
She graduated from the College of Santa Fe with a degree in Bachelor of Science Management. Vangie retired as Director of Administrative Services, New Mexico Attorney General’s office in 2015.
Her interests and hobbies included Chicano Folk Art and Literature, Theater, Arts, Music, Dance, National Hispanic Cultural Center. She served as Secretary General of La Bajada Community Ditch and Mutual Domestic Water Association. She was a member of the L.U.L.A.C/G.I.Forum NM Federation of Democratic Women.
She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of the Incarnation in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
