F. Owen Busch Jr. passed away on September 3, 2011 at age 78. He was born in Mancos, Colorado on May 24, 1933 to F. Owen Busch Sr. and Altha May Mulnix Busch who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in don death by his infant son Joseph, infant granddaughter Tatum, brother Ernest, sister Myrna, and half-brother Leon Plemons. He is survived by his wife Laurel. Also surviving him are his sons Andrew (Stephanie) and Samuel (Rachel) Busch, and daughters Johanna (Joseph) Taylor and Annika (Jeremy) Coleman. A dear sister Nona Hawkins also survives him. Loving grandchildren and nieces and nephews survive him also. Owen served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic working on the P51 Mustangs during the Korean War. At the time of his death he was an enthusiastic member of the Civil Air Patrol with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He also enjoyed his membership with the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith in and love of the Lord supported and sustained him throughout his life. He loved watching T.V. newscasts and reading the newspaper and as a "news junkie he relished discussing "current events with everyone. An outgoing and friendly person, his hobbies included treasure hunting with friends and researching lost gold mines and caches. He was loved and will be missed. Funeral services will be conducted under direction of Bishop Rodney Warner, on Thursday September 8 at 11:00 AM at the Kirtland 3rd Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held at the same location at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place after the funeral at the Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery. Pallbearers are the Civil Air Patrol.
