Frances Ann Eastridge was born 16 July, 1935 in Killarney, West Virginia to parents David Andrew Eastridge (coal mining foreman) and Mildred Louise Eastridge (Johnson). The family moved to Spotsylvania, VA, where she grew up on the family farm, learned the value of hard work and enjoyed close extended family life. She graduated from Spotsylvania High School, where she was a cheerleader, and then worked at the Sylvania Plant in Fredericksburg, Virginia as a secretary. She subsequently met and married Jack Lynn Cannon, a USMC Korean War veteran. They moved between multiple states in the southwest and finally settled in Tijeras, NM in 1966.

She worked as a loan specialist at the First National Bank on east Central Avenue for many years and later as the supervisor of the Word Processing department at the downtown office of the Albuquerque National Bank. She left the company in 1978, married Don Majors and drove a semi-trailer truck cross country for some time. She also worked as the head of the collections department for a vacation property business, and as a secretary in two different attorney offices. She worked until she was 84 years old as a receptionist at two different firms.

She was a wonderful, caring mother, and a beautiful, generous, helpful person. She was a lifetime Christ follower and led her family as such. She was the glue that held the family together. She loved dancing and would dance whenever she could. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tijeras and later of the Westside Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Rio Rancho, NM and Providence Bible Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. As a gifted singer with a beautiful soprano voice, she sang in church choirs and groups including The Celebration Chorale, the Wing and a Prayer folk group (where she played the mountain dulcimer and sang), and on published recordings of The Gospel Messengers.

She was taken peacefully to our Lord on July 14, 2026. She is survived by her five children: Blayne Cannon of Charleston, SC., Colin Cannon of Aztec, NM., Shawn Cannon, Kimberly Newman, and Lyndee Cannon, all of Edgewood, NM.

She has 11 living grandchildren: Ian Alexander Cannon, Nathaniel Varrick Cannon, Liam Andrew Cannon, Joshua Michael Cannon, Aaron Christopher Cannon Ethridge, Clayton Lynn Cannon, Jessica Nicole Cannon, Melanie Annette Semarge Parsons, Christy Michelle Newman, Corey Mark Newman, Sarah Danielle Langley and Shawna Rae Cannon Bowman. In addition, two more grandchildren, Aeric Greye Cannon and Ryan Michael Cannon preceded her in death.

Her great-grandchildren include Rebecca Renee Williams, Joshua Michael Cannon, Jr, Ty Ryan Ethridge, Michael Bodie Ethridge, Brook Lynn Cannon, Kendra Ann Cannon, Kurrsten Taylor Cannon, Haydn Thomas Parsons, Brennan Nathaniel Parsons, Kaelyn Sky Semarge, Castiel Aerienne Semarge, Caden Grey Newman, William Mark Newman, Elliana Lynette Newman, Everett James Newman and Kilian Arrsamquq Langley.

She was a true example of a real Christian in every respect for us to follow. She will be forever missed and loved by all those who ever knew her. Godspeed Mom, Memaw, Ann.
