Gabriel Padilla

Padilla, Gabriel P. 
Age 88, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Socorro, NM on March 22, 1930, to Sarafin and Petrolina (Padilla) Padilla. Gabriel enjoyed hunting, hosting matanzas for family and friends, and making chile Ristras. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 and was a member of the VFW and the New Mexico Army National Guard. Gabriel was a heavy equipment operator for New Mexico Tech for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Libby Padilla; daughter, Debbie  Padilla; sisters, Pauline Padilla, Beatrice Herrera, Virginia Ulibarri, Hope Armola, Maggie Lopez and Veva Padilla; brothers, Morris Padilla, Joe Padilla, Edmundo Padilla, Junior Padilla, and grandaughter, Tasha Sophia Otero. Gabriel is survived by his sons, Ray Padilla, Donald Padilla, Phillip G Padilla, and Albert Otero. A Rosary to be recited on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with Mass of Resurrection immediately following at 9:00 am.  Celebrant Rev. John Anasiudu.  Burial will take place at Polvadera Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Donald Padilla, Phillip Padilla and Albert Otero.
