It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Scott, who departed this life peacefully on Saturday, May 3rd at the age of 77.
Born in 1947 in Albuquerque, Gary lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and quiet strength. A devoted father to his son Colin and daughter Catlin, he was a constant source of love and support. In his later years, Gary took immense joy in his 4 grandchildren Roslyn, Dirk, Penelope, and Evangeline. He is survived by his beloved sister, Del Oxley, and brother, Richard Scott, who shared in the many memories and moments that shaped his remarkable life.
A lifelong caregiver, Gary devoted many years to the field of nursing, offering not just medical care but deep kindness and empathy to every patient he encountered.
Beyond his professional calling, Gary found joy and tranquility in the nature. He was most at peace among trees, rivers, and wide open skies. An avid sailor, he cherished time spent on the water, where the rhythm of the waves and the quiet wind brought him serenity.
Gary will be remembered for his unwavering care for others, and the simple joys he embraced with gratitude. His legacy lives on in his children, his family, and in the many hearts he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary Scott may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
The family will have a private inurnment at a later date.
