Geneva Christine Escarsega

October 1, 1984 — November 11, 2023

Geneva Christine (Archuleta) Escarsega, 39, was called home on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Born to Leopoldo Archuleta and Darlene Lorraine (Turrietta) Archuleta on October 1, 1984, in Socorro, New Mexico. She was the second born of five children. Throughout her lifetime she served many roles, touching many people’s lives along the way. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, an auntie, a life partner, and a friend.

Geneva loved to laugh and dance; she could always be found jamming out to oldies and music while she would be sweeping up in her family home. Geneva had the ability to make the people she loved the most feel loved and supported, she knew what to do to make us laugh and smile and feel loved even if she was struggling to feel those things herself. Her bright smile, warm heart, funny personality, and fiery spirit let Geneva impact a lot of people throughout the course of her lifetime. She made a lot of lifelong, loyal friends, whom she has either known since childhood or for years. Some of which were her childhood friends Samantha (Lucero) Baca, Mona Soto, and her sisters, Mirand Martinez, Jamie Talamante, and her beloved “Friend” Lorraine Moreno just to name a few. She would always be so bright saying “Hi, Friend” every time she came across them. Geneva was also a support system and mother figure to her younger brother and sister as they grew up.

Geneva would always say her greatest accomplishments in her life were her children. Emarie, Lil Leonard, Angelito “Lito”, Crucito “Cruz”, “June”, Banessa “Bubbles”, and Miguel “Bubba”.

Geneva is proceeded in death by her Grandfather Aniceto Archuleta, her son Angelito “Lito”, her Mother-in-law Carolyn Lesperance, and her Beloved friend Lorraine Moreno.
Geneva is survived by her children Miguel Leo “Bubba”, Emarie, Lil Leonard, Cruz, “June”, and Banessa. She is also survived by her Life Partner of 15 years Jacalyn “J.J.” Lesperance, her parents Leopoldo and Darlene, as well as her siblings Racheal (Archuleta) Vega her husband Chris and their children Christopher, Patricia, and Antonio, as well as her great nephew Antonio. Her sister Lisa (Archuleta) Zanabria her husband Enrique and their children “Fatso”, Nanni’s” and “Peanut”. Her sister Krystal Archuleta and her life partner Derrick Crane. Her brother Leo Paul Jr. and his wife Amanda (Torres) Archuleta. She is also survived by her aunt Jeannie, her husband Alfred, and their daughter Leanne. Her aunt Annie and her children Carlos, Erin, and Jonathan. Her aunt Veronica and her children. Geneva is also survived by her beloved aunt “Lava” Olivia Ortiz, her husband albert Valenzuela and their 3 children, along with many other family and friends.

Geneva was a bright soul with a contagious smile and a fiery disposition that no one could deny! May she be remembered for her strength, warmth, compassion, beauty, laughter, and that bright beautiful smile. Some people truly earn the right to have peace in their life, Geneva is one of those souls that has earned that right. May her soul rest in peace and the perpetual light shine upon her. Until we see each other again Geneva, May time be patient and Love be Kind.” We love you Always.
