George (Georgie) Gonzales

George Gonzales, (Georgie), 66 passed from this life into eternal life on Saturday March 11, 2023, after being diagnosed with a terminal illness, at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM surrounded by his loving family at 3:17 pm.  Georgie was born on December 16, 1956 in Socorro, New Mexico.

Georgie grew up in Socorro, NM.  He enjoyed music, long walks, sports, visiting family, the company of friends, cruising, and especially loved to eat his favorite Mexican foods.  He also loved his coffee & cigarettes, no doubt.

Georgie attended Socorro Public Schools.

He is preceded in death by his father Avelino Gonzales, Sr., sisters Molly Gonzales, Beverly Gonzales, and Connie Duran.  Nephew, Kenneth Silva, and great nephew Baby Steven Michael Xavier Silva.

Georgie is survived by his mother, Maria Gonzales, his sisters Angie O’Donald (Byron), Charlene Martinez      and Veronica Gonzales.  Brothers, Avelino Gonzales, Jr. (Martha), Daniel Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales (Lori), Sammy Gonzales (Brittany), Robert Michael Gonzales (Kristin), half-brothers Roy Gonzales (Stephanie), Tim Gonzales (Lily), Joseph Gonzales (Trish), and many nieces and nephews.

Georgie was a very special brother with a kind soul, lived a free spirit and with a great sense of humor.  He was a loyal friend to all that knew him.  He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Georgie will live in our hearts forever.

Services for Georgie will be Tuesday March 28, 2023 at San Miguel Catholic Church; Rosary at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow after the Mass at San Miguel Cemetery.
