George R. Lamb, 86, of Aztec, passed away at his home on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010. He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Pima, Ariz., to Jacob and Hilma Lamb. George served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, and twice received the Purple Heart while fighting in the Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Leona Lamb of Aztec; son, Steven B. Lamb and his wife, Diana; their children, Candace (Mike) Williams of DeRidder, La., and Kyle (Rebecca) Lamb of Santa Fe; his sisters Dona Sutton and Marge Smith, both of Aztec; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave. in Aztec, with Pastor Mark Coffey officiating. Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe.
