George L Romero

April 23, 1938 — March 13, 2022

George L. Romero was called home to our Lord, Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  He was born April 23, 1938, to Felicita and Manuel Romero of Horsesprings, New Mexico.  George was known to all as a man who cared deeply for his family and friends.  He had a kind soul, an amazing sense of humor, and he could make friends at the drop of a hat.  On October 1, 1955, George married his soul mate and the love of his life of sixty-four years, Mary Taylor Romero.  Together they lived a wonderful life raising a family while enjoying each other's company that was full of love, laughs, and the best stories.  The loved hanging out at the casino, watching "Cowboy" shows and while Mary loved the Dallas Cowboys, George loved the Seattle Seahawks!  Every year, George looked forward to hunting and fishing with his best friends and his son.  George is finally back with the love of his life in heaven.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Romero, his parents Felicita and Manuel Romero, and his two daughters, Debra Carbajal and Cynthia Romero Naranjo, and son-in-law Bobby Silva.

George is survived by his daughters Georgia Silva and Nadine Romero, his son Lawrence and wife Jessica, and brothers Albert Romero and wife Lydia, Henry Romero and wife Ramona, and Billy Romero and wife Esperanza.  George and Mary have fourteen grandchildren, many beloved great and great-great grandchildren, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.  Rosary to be recited on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, New Mexico.  Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church with Father John Anisiudu.  Pallbearers will be Chris Romero, David Silva, Bernadette Baca, Issiac Baca, Adryan Triana, and Ruben Gonzales.  Burial will take place at the San Miguel Cemetery following the service.
