LaForge, Gerald Kay
Age 85, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, January 13, 2019. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on December 7, 1933, to Kenneth Joseph LaForge and Thelma Jean Dickens. Gerald graduated in 1952 from Santa Fe High School. He than joined the Navy in 1952 and served for over 3 years and ended his Navy career as a Machinist Mate 2. Gerald married Pamela Sue Marcum LaForge on June 20, 1993 in Gunnison, Colorado. He worked at Santa Fe High School teaching Shop, Eberline Instruments, E&A Engineering, Los Alamos National Laboratory and DTLI. Gerald's hobbies included fishing, hunting, building things, harassing and picking on his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother; sons, Timothy Joseph LaForge, Christopher Alan LaForge; sister-in-law, Elaine LaForge; mother-in-law, Gladys Williamson; many beloved pets and most recently his Corgi, Tucker.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pamela LaForge of Albuquerque; daughter, Martina LaForge Lara (Enrique) of Albuquerque; step daughter, Kristi Mills Jones-Williamson (Alan Bravo Tudela) of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Yumiko Sakai (Matt Fox) of Rio Rancho; grandson Jimmy Apodaca (J.J.); and granddaughters, Brittany LaForge, Tyra LaForge, and Ona Cadence Siebolds; and Gerry's very special dog, Buddy.
Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 am Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Daniels Family Funerals and Cremation, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment to follow at 1:30 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
