Age 91, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born in Timpson, TX on March 3, 1922, to Vestor Jennings and Florence Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charlie King, Florence King, three brothers and one sister. Gertrude is survived by her daughter Jan Powdrell from CO, two sisters; Vera Hodges, Sirlura Henderson both from Albuquerque, three brothers; Robert Earl King, Jerry R. King (Winnie), Wallace King all from Diboll, TX, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Gertrude moved to Albuquerque in 1947 she was a faithful and loyal member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 55 years, she enjoyed watching wrestling, playing bingo, and gardening. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Shiloh Baptist Church located at 608 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE. Service to follow at 11:00 am.
