Carson, Gloria Della Romo Age 82, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012. She was born in Chicago, IL on June 23, 1929, to Angel and Della Romo. She was very committed to the education of youth and of higher education for all. Gloria was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother; she made everyone around her feel that they were her favorite. Gloria was a devoted Catholic, an activist for women��?�s rights, the executive secretary of the Special Ed department at UNM, and a Girl Scout leader for 10 years. Gloria enjoyed the opera, theater and all types of music, an enthusiast of all types of flowers and a world wide traveler. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank; sister, Ilene; parents, Angel Romo, Della (Gradowsky) Romo. Gloria is survived by her husband of 62 years, Myron K. Carson; daughters, Peggy Sanchez Mills and husband, Angela Robbins and husband, Theresa McGuire and husband; son, Tom Carson and wife; brother, Ray Romo; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd NE, Albuquerque. Burial will take place following the service at Fairview Memorial Park. Due limited parking meters at the Newman Center courtesy shuttles will be provided from Daniels Family Funeral Services 1100 Coal Ave. SE to the service and back to the funeral home.
