Gloria Quintana Silva

Gloria Q. Silva’s spirit was lifted above as she peacefully passed away on Friday, Sept 13, 2019. On April 7, 1928 Gloria was born to the late Lucano and Crescenciana Quintana of Santa Cruz, NM. She worked many years at Los Alamos National Labs before meeting the love of her life, Paul Silva and marrying him in 1954. They moved to Albuquerque and proceeded to have three daughters, Gloria Jean, Anna, and Tammy. Gloria also worked at the UNM concessions at the PIT and football stadium for over 40 years, combining her love of sports and socializing with friends! She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Silva, to whom she was married for 52 years before his passing. She is also preceded in death by her five siblings: Sarah, Martha, Louie, Teresina, and Orlando. She is survived by her three daughters and their families: Gloria Jean Valdez and husband Alfredo Valdez; Anna Silva Sanchez; and Tammy Jaramillo and her husband James Jaramillo, as well as her three grandchildren, Alana Sanchez, Jamesha Jaramillo, and Grayson Jaramillo, and two great-grandsons, Ronnie Paulus Chavez and Francisco Antonio Vargas Jr. Our beloved mother Gloria will be missed by many including her sister-in-law Matilda Quintana and her precious niece Regina Martinez, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and Godchildren, but she will live forever in our hearts and memories.

The pallbearers carrying Gloria to her final resting place will be: son-in-laws, Alfredo Valdez and James Jaramillo; grandson, Grayson Jaramillo; and nephews, Michael Martinez, Orlando Martinez, and Daniel Martinez. Honorary pallbearer is Gloria’s beloved nephew Don Luis Quintana.
