On Monday, March 30, 2026, Griselda Radosevich passed away peacefully at 101 years of age. Griselda Antonia Romero, known as “Chris” to her friends and coworkers and “Selda” to her family, was born April 19,1924 in Scholle, NM to Fred and Maria Romero. She grew up in La Joya, NM and graduated from Socorro High School in 1941. Griselda married J. David Radosevich November 14, 1951. Together, they raised five children and remained happily married until J. David’s death in 1983 from cancer. Griselda was a resident of Albuquerque, NM for over 54 years before moving to The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho, where she lived for 9 years.
Griselda’s family was the greatest source of joy for her. She always had something prepared to eat for anyone who stopped by her house. Her home was the gathering place for family on holidays and Sunday dinners. At her 100th birthday celebration, she looked at everyone gathered in her honor and said: “These are all my family!!” She had the biggest smile on her face. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always brightened her day. Griselda is survived by her children Mark (Julia) Radosevich, Tony Radosevich, Fred (Dianna) Radosevich, Robert (Roberta) Radosevich, and Frances (Tom) Torres; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and her brother Eloy Romero and numerous nieces and nephews. Griselda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters-in-law Patti and Barbara, and her sisters Nides Tafoya, Loren Salas, Mary Ekern and Tommie Trujillo.
Griselda worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) until she retired in 1989. She loved talking to the balloonists that came into the office and collected Balloon Fiesta patches and pins for years after her retirement.
Griselda was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish for over 50 years. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She prayed the rosary often and received the Eucharist weekly.
Griselda loved tending her flowers, plants and turtles at the home she lived in for over 50 years. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds. She spent many hours working on jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and crossword puzzles. She went to bingo every chance she got and was always ready to spend a few hours on a slot machine at the casino. Her favorite vacations were going to Laughlin, NV with her sister Mary and niece Pauline.
The family wishes to thank all of those that took care of Chris at the Neighborhood and at Roadrunner Hospice. We are grateful for all the love and care she received in her final years.
Services for Griselda Radosevich will be on Monday, April 20 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Albuquerque, 811 Guaymas Place NE. Rosary 10:30am followed by Mass at
11:00am. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a reception at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 4120 Cutler Ave. NE after the interment.
The family requests that no flowers be sent to the church. Please consider planting something green in memory of Griselda’s love of caring for her garden.
