Guadalupe M. "Lupe" Lozano

Lozano, Guadalupe "Lupe" M. Age 84, and a resident of Socorro, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was born in Rodey, NM on May 20, 1929, to Miguel and Aleja (Montes) Lozano. Lupe was raised around the Hatch, NM and Deming, NM area. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he served in the Corp. of Engineers. Lupe enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He worked as a security guard and then mechanic for the White Sands Missile Range until he retired in the late 1980's. He enjoyed woodworking and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennie Peringer; sons, Manuel C. and Rodrigo Lozano; his brothers, Frank and Manuel Lozano; his sisters, Julia Medina and Ophelia Duran. Lupe is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jovita (Valenzuela) Lozano; his devoted children, Jose G. Lozano and wife, Lena; Virginia Vivian and husband, Sammy; Mary Frances Martinez and husband, Lloyd; and Don Lozano and companion, Brian Trujillo; his brothers, Miguel and Gabriel Lozano; grandchildren, Eddie Gonzales and wife, Margaret; Thomas & Tyrone Rivera; Kimberly Telles and husband, Tony; Miguel Lozano and wife, Amanda; JR Lozano and wife, Doshia; Samantha Gonzales and husband, Ruben; Joshua and Jordan Martinez; Samuel Vivian; Bethany Martinez and fiance, Kevin Gonzales; and Gina Peringer; and his beloved 20 great grandchildren. The Holy Rosary to be recited on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 1430 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM, with the Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 9:00 am. Celebrant is Father Andrew Pavlak. Burial will take place at San Miguel Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Eddie Gonzales, Miguel Lozano, JR Lozano, Joshua Martinez, Jordan Martinez, and Samuel Vivian. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Rivera, Tyrone Rivera, and Kevin Gonzales.
