MONTOYA- Harry I. Montoya, 91, loving father, brother, grandfather and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Friday September 17, 2010. Harry was born May 16, 1919 in La Jara, NM but raised in Jemez Springs where his heart will forever be. Harry is survived by his loving children, Harriet Goddard and husband Bill of Rio Rancho, NM, Robert (Randy) Montoya and wife Anne of Amarillo, TX, Gloria Montoya and husband Edward Goddard of Albuquerque, NM, Albert Montoya and wife Kim of Greeley, Co, Betty Montoya of Bernalillo, NM, Christine Imperial of Albuquerque, NM; daughter-in-law Theresa Montoya of Greeley, Co.; 33 grandchildren 49 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Harry is preceded in death by his parents Juan B. and Alvina Montoya; his beloved wife Stella of 59 years; his children David, Mary and Martin Montoya, and Anthony Sandoval; his sister Grace; and brothers Orlando and Marino. Harry was known for his compassionate heart, always leaving the door open to any one who needed a place to stay. Harry bravely served in the US Army defending our country with pride during World War II earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. His family was his life and very important to him. Harry loved the mountains. In his leisure he enjoyed playing poker, fishing and hunting. Harry will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A viewing will take place in the 8TH Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, Tuesday September 21, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Reciting of the Rosary will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM; Tuesday September 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated Wednesday September 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tony Goddard, David Montoya Jr., Martin Trujillo, Daniel Montoya, Robert Gutierrez and Carlos Imperial. Honorary bearers are Vicente Gutierrez, Frankie Imperial, A.J.
