Haylee Monroe Gonzalez

Haylee Monroe Gonzalez was taken from the arms of those who loved her far too soon on September 8, 2026. While her family grieves the years they should have had with her, they find peace in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus, reunited with loved ones who went before her.

Haylee was born on February 23, 2005, in Roswell, New Mexico. From an early age, she had a natural gift for music and dance. She was a talented piano player and an exceptionally skilled dancer. Though naturally quiet, Haylee came alive when she performed. What began as a childhood talent grew through years of dedication, discipline, and a genuine love for music, dance, and performing.

While still in eighth grade, Haylee was selected to join the renowned Charlie’s Angels Varsity Dance Team at Roswell High School. During her years with the team, she was part of multiple state championship titles as well as a national championship title—accomplishments that reflected both her talent and determination.

Haylee was exceptionally bright, and mathematics came naturally to her. It was always one of her strongest subjects. At the time of her passing, Haylee was attending the University of New Mexico and had recently declared a major in biology with a minor in chemistry. She truly loved college life and enjoyed being on campus, where she was finding her independence, discovering her own path, and looking toward a future filled with possibility. She hoped to once again pursue her love of dance and talked about joining the UNM dance team. One of her favorite places on campus was the UNM Duck Pond, a place she often visited to find quiet, peace, and time to reflect.

Haylee was kind and gentle, with a quiet nature and appreciation for the simple things in life. She loved animals, music, the beach, and traveling and experiencing new places. While she enjoyed new things, Haylee was never caught up in labels or material possessions. She found happiness in the people, places, experiences, and little things that were meaningful to her. Haylee was a believer, and her faith brings great comfort to those who love her.

Haylee was preceded in death by her mother, Stacia Pearce.

She is survived by her father, Jeff Gonzalez; her siblings, Khloe Maidment and Malakai Maidment; along with her extended family, friends, and the many people whose lives were touched by knowing and loving her.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Haylee’s memory may consider a donation to the Truck Safety Coalition (trucksafety.org) or to a cause that is meaningful to them.

A celebration of Haylee’s life will be arranged for a later date. For now, please remember her for the beautiful person she was and the love she leaves behind.
