Hazel Lorene Blackburn, 84, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Farmington. She was born December 21, 1925 in Bowie, Texas to Harmon and Laura Parrott. She married the love of her life, Herman C. Blackburn in Napa, California, in 1943. They were married 54 years before he passed away. Hazel was in the florist business for about 50 years and owned and operated Hazel’s Florist for 22 years. She loved sewing, gardening, and enjoyed her family and friends. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Linda Koch of Cortez, CO and son, Carl Blackburn of Farmington. Also surviving are a sister, Billie Sue Milne, five grandchildren, 10 Great Grand children and one great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Blackburn, her parents, a brother and three sisters. Funeral services for Hazel will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Farmington with Rev. Joe O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brent Kiszka, Stewart Lawrence, Bobby Beck, Travis Ned, Jack Ensor and Roger Ensor.
