Heinz Zaplin, 90, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home on November 27th 2021. He was born in Essen, Germany on April 3rd, 1931. He was also preceded in death by his wife Eufrosine (Frieda) and his son Roger. He is survived by his two sons Earl Zaplin and wife Carol and Michael Zaplin and wife Ann Darrigrand, 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He immigrated to the US and was naturalized in 1950. He served 20 years in the Air Force as well as 20 years for the State of NM and retired shortly thereafter. He loved scenery and nature. He also enjoyed playing board games. One of his favorites was Stratego which took some engineering and thought. He enjoyed watching TV especially sports and football was his favorite, If the house was on fire it would have been difficult to drag him away from the TV. We do not think any of us ever saw him wearing jeans or shorts. He was very content with what he had and with his surroundings. He will be deeply missed. We will see you again with the Lord in Eternal pastures.
