A resident of Bernalillo, NM, passed away peacefully in the arms of her family, from complications of Dementia. Helen was born in Cabezon, NM, in 1938 to parents Seferino and Fidela Lucero. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Lucero, her parents, brothers Robert and Lawrence Lucero.
Helen will always be remembered by her smile and happy, friendly face. She was a warm, caring and generous person. Happy go Lucky until the end.
Helen graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School in Bernalillo. She worked for Montgomery Wards in downtown Albuquerque as a bookkeeper. In 1962 Montgomery Wards transferred her to Chicago, Illinois. She lived there for many years and then was transferred to Macon, Georgia where she trained employees on making credit cards.
Helen loved music and dancing. She worked for Arthur Murray in the evenings. Her greatest talent was in making quilts and Christmas tree skirts. She also loved to travel.
Upon retirement, Helen moved back to New Mexico where she lived in Rio Rancho. Helen moved to Bernalillo in 2016.
Helen is survived by her sisters, Julia Garcia, Virginia Garcia, Dolores Montoya, Elizabeth Dominquez and brother Max Dominquez and many nieces and nephews.
We want to thank Hospice del la Luz for her care, Special thanks to her nurse Kelli, for her compassion and generosity. Chaplin Roberto for his prayers and music. Her caregivers, Mary Monnet, Layla Wiscott, Kathy Montoya, Jovanna Gonzales and Chantell Montoya.

We wish to thank all the family and friends for being with Helen until her passing.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows in Bernalillo, on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Rosary at 10:00am, Mass at 10:30, Reception to follow the mass.
Inurnment will take place at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, next to her Son at 2:00pm.
