Helen Joyce Wilson

Helen Joyce Wilson, age 82 years old, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 2016 and longtime resident of Midland, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. She was born on Sunday, March 30, 1941 to George and Maudy Gunkel in Beggs, OK.  

Helen was preceded in death by her son, Mark Wilson, sister, Wanda Hale and brother-in-law, Ralph Hale and ex husband, Tex Wilson. She is survived by Jim Wilson and wife, Rosie, grandkids and great-grand-kids, nieces and nephews.  

She was a devoted member of the Midland Seventh-Day Adventist Church for close to 30 years. Devotion to her family and a warm love for others was how she chose to live her love for God. Her tireless efforts to give her boys the opportunities she didn’t have led her to sacrifice in many ways so that we could attend Christian school and see educational opportunities that she never had. She had a strong and daring spirit with a love of fun which was seen in her choice of sports cars and spirited horses that intimidated some others as well as her ever changing hair color. Above all she was a daughter of the King and now peacefully rests awaiting His summon at the Second Coming!
