Henretta Lankford

Henretta Mathews Lankford was born on January 22, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. Butter. She moved to Tyler, Texas from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she grew up with her younger brother Donald Lee Butter, her father and step mother Mary Butler after the death of her mother at a young age. Later in her early adult years she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico with her then husband and father of her children JoAnn Alien and Doris Matthews. She lived there until the day the Lord called her home the morning of March 23, 2013 at the age of 74. In the early 1970�s she joined Pilgrim Church of God in Christ, where she accepted. Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served as the secretary for several years. She loved going to church and her church family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend always letting them know she loved them by not ending a phone call without saying �I love you�. She worked as a homemaker for several years, in healthcare and as a Teacher�s Aide. She is preceded in death by her first husband the late Benny Charles Matthews, her youngest daughter Doris Matthews, a mother, father and step-mother Mary Butler. Henretta leaves to cherish her memories one daughter JoAnn Allen (John) of Columbus, GA., 4 grandchildren Shaneva Lynn Gibson (Derrick) of Columbus, GA., LaDawn Lomax (Kevin) of Phoenix City, AL, Keyonnia Matthews and Dorsett Matthews both of Albuquerque, NM. 7 great grandchildren, Emanuel Todd, Shaderricka Gibson, Imani Gibson all of Columbus, GA., Kardell Todd, Keajah Lomax both of Phoenix City, AL, Shakiea Matthews of Albuquerque, NM, Nevaeh Mann of Akron, OH, one brother Donald Lee Butler of Tyler, TX, and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 31, 2013, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque. Service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013, 11:00 am, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque.
