Henry Baca Obituary: September 18, 1937 – May 24, 2026

Henry Baca age 88 of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 24, 2026. He was born in Socorro, N.M. and eventually moved to Albuquerque where he began a career with the City of Albuquerque and retired there as a Maintenance Supervisor. Prior to moving in the 1960s, he worked as a Press Operator for the Socorro Chieftain newspaper. He also joined the Socorro National Guard where he quickly achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He had the ability to give lectures on the safety and use of heavy artillery cannons.

Henry was a dedicated and hardworking father sometimes working 2 or 3 jobs at a time to support his family. He was a Handyman and Jack of all Trades. He instilled in us the value of hard work.

Henry was preceded in death by his loving son, Rudy Baca. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Martha Baca and five children and spouses Henry Baca Jr. (Darlene), Robert Baca (Barbara), Richard Baca, Trini Baca Rivera (José), and Sandra Baca, plus nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Henry and Martha married at a very young age in their teens. He cherished and loved his wife. He loved all of his children, extended family of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends dearly, and he will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 9:00 am followed by a Rosary at 9:30 am and Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at the Risen Savior Catholic Church located on 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Albuquerque, NM 87109. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. A Reception at the Daniels Funeral Home (located next door to Risen Savior church) located on 7601 Wyoming Blvd. Albuquerque, NM 87109. If you are bringing food to the reception, please drop off at Daniels Funeral home prior to service. Hours of operation are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
