Henry Leonard Montoya of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on September 2, 2025. Leonard was born March 12, 1937, in Cuba, NM, to Manuel and Marguerite Montoya. Leonard enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, having a cold beer or two, telling a good story, and a love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Leonard is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Juli Marcinelli (Ron) and Jodi Segura (Lawrence), stepson Jerry Lazzari, and stepdaughter Jennifer Lazzari; his grandsons Anthony Martinez, Justin Ulibarri, Jesse Ulibarri (Kyky Corral), and Joseph Lazzari, great-granddaughter Elena Frieberg (Keaton), and great-grandson Matias Ulibarri. He is also survived by his sisters Pauline Brummell (Jerry) and Dianne Brack, numerous nieces and nephews, best friends Michael and Sylvia Maestas, and all the wonderful friends he considered a part of his family. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Marguerite Montoya, his first wife Mary Helen Montoya, brother and sister-in-law Manuel and Carolina Montoya, brother-in-law Wilbur Brack, and nephews Pat Kellerman, John Montoya and Tom Montoya.
