An Angel passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023. Her captivating smile endeared her to everyone she met. Hilda Lucero’s heart may have stopped, but her essence will live on in the people she loved and who loved her. We say goodbye to an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Hilda was born on January 21, 1946, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was the best cook, and even her simplest fideo recipe delighted all her grandchildren.
Hilda is survived by her husband of 58 years, David; her four children, Bernadette Lucero-Turner, Barbara Marquez and husband Richard Marquez, David Lucero Jr. and wife Gina Lucero, Paul Lucero and wife Marsha Lucero; her grandchildren, Alexandra Cordova, and husband Jorie Cordova, Victoria Marquez and Eric Norton, Richard Marquez, David Lucero III and wife Angela Lucero, Michael Lucero, Antonia Marquez, and Paul Lucero, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Elaina Lucero, Amelia Lucero, and David Lucero IV. She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Archibeque, Emily De La Cruz, Kathy De La Cruz, and one brother, Art De La Cruz.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 2:30-6:30 at Daniel’s Funeral~Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. A rosary will follow beginning at 6:30.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 9:00-10:00 at St. Therese Little Flower Church in Albuquerque. Buriel will follow at Mount Calvery Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Richard Marquez, Sr., Richard Marquez, Jr., David Lucero III, Michael Lucero, Jorie Cordova, and Eric Norton.
Reception will follow.
