Horacio “Dutchie” Martinez, 85, passed away on Holy Saturday April 4, 2015 surrounded by his entire family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Triny; son Anthony and wife Novella; daughter Lorraine Baca and husband Tom; son Richard and wife Pauline; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-Grandchildren; 4 sisters, Elsie Saiz, Lucy Jaramillo, Helen Gurule, and Rebecca Smoot. He was preceded in death by his parents Nazario and Manuelita Martinez, and brother, Vienes Martinez. Horacio was a lifelong resident of Corrales, NM and took his last breath less than 100 yards from where he took his first. Hard work was his way of life, and gardening was his passion. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. While home on leave he met the love of his life, Triny Jaramillo, and asked her to wait for him, they were married on Nov 27, 1954. Truer Vows were never spoken as she cared for Horacio all the days of his life after he was stricken with Parkinson’s disease in 2011. Special thanks to cousin Pricilla for all her help during his last months. Pallbearers are Andrew Baca, Angelo Martinez, Estevan Jaramillo, Raymond Sanchez, Kelly Maes, and Phil Baca. Honorary Pallbearers are Christopher Martinez, Tito Gurule, and Robert Jaramillo. Rosary will be recited Monday, April 13, 7pm San Ysidro Church, Corrales. Mass will be held Tuesday, 10am, San Ysidro Church. Interment will follow at 2:15 pm Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe NM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Horacio's honor to the N.M.
