Hugh Leonard Seifert

April 12, 1936 — March 7, 2022

Hugh Leonard Seifert passed away on March 7, 2022 in Bernalillo, NM at the age of 85.

Hugh is survived by his daughter, Patricia Latter (John) of Rio Rancho, NM; brother, Paul Seifert (Donna) of Benton, AR; sisters, Emma Davis of Lewisville, TX, Anna Harris of Gilbert, AZ, and Martha McAlister (Robert) of Hot Springs, AR; grandchild, Christopher M. Latter (Lauren); great grandchildren, Jackson Latter and Scarlett Latter; and his beloved pet Gabby. He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Seifert; mother, Gladys Seifert; brother, Harold Seifert; son, Paul L. Shea; and grandson, John Thomas Latter and beloved pet Lady.

Hugh was born on April 12, 1936 in Heber Springs, AR to Oscar and Gladys Seifert. He graduated from Heber Springs High School in 1954. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1976. Hugh served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War Era from 1954-1968. He ranked as a TS GT E-6 and received the National Defense Service Metal.

Hugh enjoyed playing golf, fishing, walking his dog and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of High Desert United Methodist Church and Lewisville Bible Church. He was an usher, greeter, security, and he attended weekly bible study.

 

The family would like to thank Palmilla Senior Living, the nurses on the fifth floor at Lovelace Medical Center, High Desert Hospice, Enchanted Medical Transport, and BeeHive Homes in Bernalillo for their care and support of Hugh and his family.


A memorial contribution can be sent to High Desert United Methodist Church, 1201 Golf Course Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 with a note that the donation should go to Second Mile Giving. Those donations for April 2022 will go to Feed New Mexico Kids.
