Ina Machuca

Ina Patricia Consuelo Machuca, age 60, passed away on July 23, 2022 in her home in Rio Rancho, NM. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida C. Machuca, and is survived by her father, Manuel Machuca, her sister Ida R. Machuca and brother Manuel Machuca Jr. as well as a large family both in the US and Peru.

Ina was born on December 19,1961 in Lima, Peru. She came to the United States as a child and grew up in Connecticut and New Jersey graduating from Hopatcong High School, then going to the Community College of Morris, and graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in Sociology in 1985. She always wanted to help people and spent time in housing facilities helping special needs adults. She later proceeded to start her own recycling business in the late 90s as her other passion was safeguarding the environment. Ina loved Colorado, traveling and hiking extensively throughout the state. She had a deep reverence for the Native American people and their culture as it reminded her of her own indigenous heritage. She hiked the Andes as well as the Rockies and loved to spend time talking to people she met learning what she could from anyone she spoke to. She loved to laugh, enjoyed puzzles, games, and flying kites. Most of all she loved her friends and family. She will be missed but always remembered.
