Irma (Sonstroem) Radke, 94 passed away Saturday (February 25, 2023) in Albuquerque, NM. The widow of the late Frederick L. Radke, Irma was born May 10, 1928, in Calumet City, Illinois, to the late Rev. Emil and Ida (Block) Sonstroem. Irma leaves three sons, Dean Radke and his wife Judith; Chris Radke and his wife Geneva; and Karl Radke. Grandchildren: Stephanie Barbera, and Robert Radke; and four great-grandchildren. Daniels Family Funeral Services of Rio Rancho, NM, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Irma was at various times in her career a housewife, art teacher and office manager at Elmwood Tool. Irma's true passion was art. She enjoyed weaving, sewing, teaching art, and making pottery. As recently as two years ago Irma was actively making beautiful pieces of pottery. She also loved Southwest Native American art as well as primitive art and she was an avid collector of both.
Per her wishes, services will be private, and her cremains will be interred alongside her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in NM. Committal will be private at the convenience of the family.
