Irmgard Emma Burger

BURGER- Irmgard Emma Burger, 85, passed away March 11, 2010. She was born Irmgard Emma Knortz on September 26, 1924 in Wetzlar, Germany. She met and married Fredrick R. Burger after World War II. They shared 63 years of matrimony. After moving to Edgewood, New Mexico in 1986, she became a founding member and dedicated volunteer at the Wildlife West Nature Center. Throughout her life Irmgard extended compassion and self sacrifice to all those who knew her. Her passion for life and commitment to family and community will be greatly missed by all that were touched by her spirit. Irmgard is survived by her two sons, Bob (Kathleen) and Jeffrey (Magda) Burger; and by four grandchildren, Scott (Yuko), Stephanie, Roxanne and Rachel Burger. Irmgard’s memorial service will be held on March 27, 2010, at 1:30 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
