James Don Anderson

James Don Anderson born on June 24, 1946, has passed on April 21, 2023, in Edgewood, NM. James, also known as Jim or Papa, was born to loving parents Clarence and Georgia Anderson in Albuquerque, NM.

He is preceded in death by his brothers; John E. Anderson, Robert R. Anderson, Ralph N. Anderson, and Jerry Anderson; sisters Roberta L. Darnold, Betty J. Powers, Gloria J. Gallegos, and Judith E. Anderson.

He is survived by his beloved wife Maria B. Anderson and daughter Lisa M. Thompson of Edgewood NM, son James K. Anderson of Albuquerque, NM, brother Ron Anderson of Albuquerque, NM and grandchildren; Jessica McCargish, Alyssa Thompson, Lauren Thompson, Esteban Anderson, and Jordan Anderson.

James graduated from Rio Grande High School before enlisting into the Army. While serving 3 years for his country James became a Specialist E-5, toured in Vietnam and received the Nation Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, a Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and an Overseas Service Bar. Quite the accomplished man he married the love of his life Maria on May 03, 1969, with his biggest accomplishment, spending 53 almost 54 years together full of love and memories. Jim worked with Del Rio Construction, and also owned his own company named Anderson Home Security, bringing security to families in Albuquerque by installing alarm systems. His interests included wood working, gardening, and camping.

You are so very loved Papa and will be greatly missed.

Services will be held Wednesday May 24, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel followed by a reception from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
