James (Jim) O. Brooks, age 74, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, at home on March 19, 2026. He was born on May 16, 1951, in Duncan, Oklahoma. 

He moved with his family as a young boy to San Jose, California, where he graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, he entered the military before being drafted and served his country in the Air Force as a Precision Maintenance Equipment Lab Technician, eventually retiring after 24 years as a Master Sergeant. After retiring, he spent time as a sheet metal worker and an Automated Robot Systems Technician. He did find his way back to calibration in his last job before fully retiring in 2019. 

He loved fishing, driving around, and listening to audio stories, tinkering with anything mechanical/technical. He had a helper’s heart. He would help anyone with most any problem, anytime. But most of all, he was so proud of and full of love for his family. He is survived by his wife of just shy of 45 years, Marina; his son, Daniel; his daughter-in-law, Aimee; his grandson, Shane; his granddaughter, Hailee; his sister-in-law, Monica; his brother-in-law, Jesse; and his niece, Alexandra.
