James J Dowdy

Dowdy, James J 81, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was born in Sedalia, MO on August 28, 1932 to James E. and Edna (Burlingame) Dowdy. James was a resident of Socorro, NM since 1996. He proudly served with the United States Navy from 1951-1954. James was a talented artist. He avidly enjoyed painting and sculpting. James always dreamt of owning his own yacht and sailing the ocean . He loved the water. He has left behind many fond memories that will be cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Frank "Gene" Dowdy. James is survived by his only son, Robert "Nick" Dowdy and wife, Terry Tyre; his grandchildren, Nichole and husband, Chad; Megan; and James; his great grandchildren, Tristan; Jax; Datton; Kennedy; and Caden. James will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Cindy; Rick; Linda; and Chuck; and many other loving family members and friends.
