James Robert Karnes

Karnes, James Robert James Robert Karnes, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Born in Stuttgart, Germany on May 2, 1964, the fifth child of Robert and Esther Karnes. James was a gifted athlete, respected executive in the construction industry, entertaining karaoke singer, and accomplished entrepreneur. He was also a loving husband, father and brother with a gentle, caring and compassionate spirit. James is survived by his wife, Renee, his son, Rosendo, his daughter, Ariana, and his son Christopher from a previous marriage. He is also survived by two brothers, Michael Karnes and Thomas Karnes. Five sisters: Barbara Karnes, Monica Stahlhut, Mary Markham, Angela Hayes, and Katherine Foster. James is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces in New Mexico, Indiana and Massachusetts. His marriage to Renee Varela introduced him to a loving family of in-laws from northern New Mexico. His entire family will miss him very much. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Road N.W. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
