James Smith was born on July 28, 1956 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He lived many places but moved back to Bernalillo, New Mexico to be near family. On March 20th, 2023 at the age of 66, James breathed his last breath on earth and first breath in heaven.
James Smith, aka Dad, was a complicated soul but had so much love for his family and friends. He liked to argue about politics and the government but more importantly he loved to speak about God. Through his stubbornness and his sickness he continued to build his relationship with God and placed all his faith in the Lord. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him. His family hopes he is riding his dream Harley through the heavenly golden gates and playing on the blissful clouds with Milo and Dexter, his two boxers who passed before him.
Dad, everyone you left in this world hates that you are gone but we are happy that you are home free and no longer sick or confined to that oxygen tank. We will always love and miss you until we can meet again.
James was predeceased by his mother, father, brother and son in law. He is survived by his daughter, Yolanda Smith; son, Joshua Smith and daughter in law Megan Smith; daughter, Roxxanne Smith; daughter, Stephanie Smith; daughter, Mollie Mixon Devenbaugh; grandchildren, Alana Mora, Antonio Mora, Jesse Smith, Dominic Smith, Ethan Smith, Clayton Smith, Kiala Gutierrez, Braxton Lovel, Isaac Anchondo, Vivian Smith, Landon Devenbaugh, Brody Devenbaugh and Kolten Devenbaugh; and his two brothers, John and wife Sue Smith and brother Dave Smith.
