James Steven Garcia

August 31,1974 - January 14, 2025

James Steven Garcia born August 31, 1974, to Frank and Prescilla Garcia passed away in the hospital surrounded by his family and friends the evening of June 14th after a four-year battle with stomach cancer. James Garcia found his life's calling in his family. He was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, friend and so much more. The impact he had on the people in his life was immortalized in his final moments as he was surrounded by his loved ones.

Meeting his wife Sammie Barela as a young adult he began his journey of being a family man. A relationship that spanned nearly thirty years was filled with utter and complete devotion. Together they raised a single daughter, Jordan Garcia who they cherished and raised with compassion. The love and family devotion James prioritized extended to every relationship in his life.

A genuine craftsman and jack of all trades, James seldom met something he couldn't fix or take apart and put back together. He created beautiful knives from blade to handle. His creative spirit and limitless talent in anything considered handcraft was inspiring. James also had a deep appreciation for media movies, books, music, etc. He loved Sci-fi and fantasy and avidly anticipated sharing that appreciation with his daughter.

He is survived by his Mother Prescilla Garcia, His wife Sammie Barela, His daughter Jordan Garcia and son-in-law Tre Hooks, as well as his brother Mark Garcia.

James Garcia will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Thank you to everyone who was with James and his family through this difficult time.
