Jay E. Woodard age 86 of Aztec, New Mexico went home to be with his Lord on April 14, 2009. Jay was born July 14, 1922 in Rawls, Texas to Joe Woodard and Myrtle Ester Pearl Woodard. Jay was a very dedicated Christian and loved his family and God dearly. In his younger years he proudly served his country in the US Navy as a Seabee during WWII in Normandy and in the Phillipines. Later he and his wife Dorothy were dry land farmers. Jay also served his community as a State Policeman in New Mexico and also served as the Chief of Police in Grants, NM. Later he worked in security for Kerr McGee and Gulf Oil. Jay spent his liesure time hunting and fishing. Jay is survived his children Melvin, Ted and Larry Woodard and daughter Janice Mata, nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Geneva Banks. Jay was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2006 and numerous brothers and sisters. Jay's request was to be cremated. Jay's care has been entrusted to: Alternative Choice
